Just watched the DVD doc about the making of the greatest rock album ever: Exile On Main St.
Amazing video of the band both currently and back in the day, sweatin’ it out in the basement of Keith’s French chateau. And of course, the tunes . . .
What really got me was a stray comment in the bonus features by various current rockers discussing their love for the album. Liz Phair (who’s way cool album “Exile in Guyville” is billed as a song-by-song response to the Stone’s “Exile”):
“Don’t you miss rock bands that disturb the social fabric?”
Yes. Yes, I do.
