In a prior post entitled “This Is A Test” I wrote about calling the non-emergency Syracuse “City Line” (448-2489) to complain of an eroding patch of a Water Department utility cut in the street in front of my house.
115 days later (August 12- December 4) the patch has been re-patched. Considering the horror stories I hear from other neighborhoods, I guess I didn’t fare that badly. However, considering that the work was contracted out to a private company, why the delay? Was my call to City Line even the catalyst for the repair?
I’ll try to find out . . .
This is a test of the non-emergency city help line 448-CITY.
On 8/12 I phoned in a complaint about the pictured utility cut. The
cut was done early this summer by the Water Department. The patchwork
paving has created a sinkhole and the asphalt is now also being worn
away by weather and regular driving damage.
I did not identify myself in any way, didn’t mention SUN–just the
address of this utility cut that needs to be repaired.
Let’s see how long it takes. I’ll know as soon as it happens, as it
is right in front of my house.
